Ex-minister involved in Liz Truss’s mini-budget criticised for ‘work ethic’ comments | Politics News

Opposition events have criticised a former minister who mentioned British folks wanted a larger work ethic – mentioning his file beneath Liz Truss.

Chris Philp, who served as a senior Treasury minister throughout the former prime minister’s temporary tenure in workplace, mentioned he believed the UK residents wanted to “up their sport” if the nation was to compete with China and India.

Talking on BBC Radio 4’s Political Pondering with Nick Robinson, the now shadow dwelling secretary mentioned: “There are 9 million working-age adults who usually are not working.
