KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Wake Forest and baseball coach Tom Walter apologized on Tuesday for what seemed to be a homophobic slur caught by tv cameras throughout an NCAA regional sport towards Tennessee.
“I’m very sorry for my outburst in frustration final evening and I acknowledge the damage and disappointment it has induced,” Walter stated in an announcement issued by the college. “I personal the implications and I apologize to the College of Tennessee, to Wake Forest College, and the SEC & ACC.”
