GWS Giants’ Toby Greene avoids sanction for kick to Sydney Swans defender Dane Rampe’s groin

The AFL reviewed Toby Greene‘s kick to Dane Rampe‘s groin however the GWS captain has prevented being sanctioned, the league’s new footy boss stated on Tuesday.

9’s Footy Labeled confirmed footage on Monday of Greene kicking his heel again within the path of Rampe’s groin forward of the opening bounce of final Friday’s Sydney derby, which GWS won by 44 points.

The Giants celebrity will miss Thursday’s conflict with the Western Bulldogs having struck Isaac Heeney within the head with a forearm throughout the first quarter.

Greene dropped to his knees and plunged his left forearm into the top of his enterprise accomplice, who had been tackled to floor by two different GWS gamers.

However Greg Swann, the AFL’s new common supervisor of soccer efficiency, advised SEN that Greene had prevented consequence for the kick as a result of he hadn’t made contact.

“It has been [reviewed]. Chrisso [Michael Christian, the match review officer] did take a look at it … and we can’t be taking any motion on it, solely on the premise that he truly does not join,” Swann stated.

“Whether or not we expect that is a factor that we wish within the sport is a separate factor, which clearly we do not.”

Swann described what Greene did as “a bizarre motion”, whereas former Melbourne captain Garry Lyon stated on SEN it was “a horrible look”.

Senior journalist Damien Barrett stated on Footy Labeled that the Swans had no challenge with the incident involving Greene and Rampe, nor had the membership introduced it to the eye of the present or the AFL.
