Third British victim of Lisbon funicular crash was ‘transport enthusiast’ | World News

The third Briton who was killed within the Lisbon funicular crash has been named by police.

Andrew David Kenneth Younger, 82, was amongst 16 individuals who died when the tourist attraction derailed within the centre of the Portuguese capital on Wednesday.

The two other Britons who lost their lives have beforehand been named as theatre director Kayleigh Smith, 36, and her companion Will Nelson, a 44-year-old lecturer at Manchester’s Arden College of Theatre.

Authorities have stated the doubtless reason for the crash was a difficulty with a cable which linked the streetcar’s two cabins.

The Gloria funicular, which is 140 years outdated, was filled with passengers when it got here off the rails, and 21 folks have been injured within the tragedy, together with 5 severely.
