Mario Draghi warns Europe is falling further behind US, China due to government complacency

One 12 months after releasing a far-reaching report on European competitiveness, former ECB chief Mario Draghi warned the EU was falling additional behind its friends and sharply criticised member states for his or her gradual response and complacency. With Donald Trump’s tariffs biting and commerce deficit with China widening, Draghi says that each problem he had identified in his report has worsened, with no clear path to financing needed investments.
