Two survivors of a US airstrike, focusing on what Donald Trump has described as a “drug-carrying submarine” within the Caribbean, have been repatriated to their house international locations.

The US president posted footage of Thursday’s operation, a part of a current military campaign targeting boats transporting medicine to America.

“It was my nice honor to destroy a really massive DRUG-CARRYING SUBMARINE that was navigating in direction of america on a well-known narcotrafficking transit route,” Mr Trump wrote on Fact Social.

“US intelligence confirmed this vessel was loaded up with principally Fentanyl, and different unlawful narcotics,” he added.

The US navy staged a helicopter rescue for the survivors on Thursday after the strike on their semi-submersible
vessel, suspected of trafficking unlawful narcotics. They have been then transported to a US Navy warship.

Two different crew members on board have been killed.

President Trump confirmed the survivors could be returned to their house international locations of Colombia and Ecuador “for detention and prosecution”. Each international locations subsequently confirmed they’d been handed over.

“America is not going to tolerate narcoterrorists trafficking unlawful medicine, by land or by sea,” he added.

On Saturday, Colombian President Gustavo Petro posted on X: “Now we have acquired the Colombian detained on the narco submarine, we’re blissful he’s alive and he will likely be processed in line with the legislation.”
