A police van has been set on hearth and bottles have been thrown at officers as protesters gathered outdoors a lodge used to deal with asylum seekers in Dublin.
It’s the second night time of demonstrations outdoors the Citywest Resort after an alleged sexual assault in its neighborhood within the early hours of Monday morning.
Footage from the scene confirmed a Garda car on hearth in addition to a number of protesters displaying Irish flags.
A big crowd has gathered within the space and members of the Garda’s public order unit have been deployed.
Eire’s justice minister, Jim O’Callaghan, stated these concerned shall be dropped at justice.
“The scenes of public dysfunction we have now witnessed at Citywest tonight should be condemned,” he stated.
“Folks threw missiles at Gardai, threw fireworks at them and set a Garda car on hearth.
“That is unacceptable and can end in a forceful response from the Gardai.
“These concerned shall be dropped at justice.”
