Minnesota Democrats Are Demanding A Broader Investigation Into Renee Good’s Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The investigation into the fatal shooting of a woman by an immigration officer in Minneapolis shouldn’t be overseen solely by the federal authorities, two of the state’s main Democrats mentioned Sunday.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and U.S. Sen. Tina Smith each mentioned in separate interviews Sunday that state authorities must be included within the investigation as a result of the federal authorities has already made clear what it believes happened.

“How can we belief the federal authorities to do an goal, unbiassed investigation, with out prejudice, when firstly of that investigation they’ve already introduced precisely what they noticed — what they assume occurred,” Smith mentioned on ABC’s “This Week.”

“We do work with locals once they work with us,” she mentioned, criticizing the Minneapolis mayor and others for not aiding Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations.

Frey and Noem every pointed fingers on the different for his or her rhetoric after Renee Good’s killing, and every pushed their very own agency conclusions about what video of the incident reveals.
