The yen is on a wild experience. As Asian markets opened on April twenty ninth, the forex plunged to a 34-year low of 160 to the greenback, including to a hefty fall over the previous three years (see chart). A sudden reversal to extra like 155 to the greenback prompted rumours of intervention by the Financial institution of Japan (BoJ).
