Two issues are sometimes mentioned of Ratan Tata, former head of the Tata Group, certainly one of India’s mightiest conglomerates: he was an enormous of Indian enterprise, and amongst its most virtuous figures. For a society as fractious as India, the esteem wherein he was held was remarkably huge.
