Meta scraps fact-checking: What are 'community notes' and what could this mean?

Social media large Meta – residence to Fb, Instagram and Threads – is scrapping its unbiased fact-checking programme, as a substitute pivoting to a “group notes” model nearer to Elon Musk’s X. Which means that customers on the platform will themselves do the flagging and correcting as a substitute of fact-checking specialists and organisations.
