Nigel Farage now ‘has a laugh’ with King despite past disagreements | Politics News

Nigel Farage stated he has “had amusing” with the King regardless of previous disagreements with him.

The Reform UK chief met with members of the royal household at Buckingham Palace at a reception for newly elected MPs.

Additionally current was the Queen, alongside the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

Mr Farage stated he has met the King “many occasions”, and added he knew if he noticed him “a number of the exchanges could be attention-grabbing” as they “have disagreed up to now”.

He added: “He got here to the European Parliament a few years in the past and gave an enormous speech to which he acquired a standing ovation.

“Other than me, I sat there with arms folded. So we have had amusing about it ever since, it is not nasty, it is local weather change and stuff like that.”

The Clacton MP criticised the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – saying different members of the royal household have been having to select up the slack.

The MP stated the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh – Prince Edward and Princess Sophie – have been “charming” and they’re “doing a whole lot of the heavy lifting”.

Requested if it was the primary time he had met them, he stated: “I met them [a] lengthy, lengthy, very long time in the past.

“However no, they’re charming, they usually do a whole lot of the heavy lifting, as a result of there’s one or two gaps on the market.”

Mr Farage added it had been “a tough few years” for the royal household.

He stated: “You already know, surprise boy and surprise lady disappear off to America, you realize, [Queen Elizabeth II] dies, the King’s not been properly, Andrew’s not within the public eye, Princess Anne is 74 or 75 or no matter she is. In order that they’re doing a whole lot of the heavy lifting. And I feel doing it very properly.”

Mr Farage stated he had “amusing about life” with Edward.

On the reception on the palace as an entire, he stated: “It is actually humorous being at this, as a result of this isn’t the primary one among these I have been to.
