Argentine Court Declares A Mistrial In Case Over The Death Of Soccer Legend Diego Maradona

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — An Argentine court docket on Thursday declared a mistrial within the case of seven well being professionals accused of negligence within the demise of soccer legend Diego Maradona, the most recent dramatic twist in a trial that has captivated the nation and the soccer world for greater than two months.

The whiplash resolution comes after one of many three judges overseeing the trial stepped down over criticism surrounding her participation in a forthcoming documentary concerning the case.

Her controversial withdrawal compelled the court docket to both appoint a brand new choose in her place or to retry the complete case from scratch.
