HOUSTON, TX – Nov. 12, 2025 – The Owner Press proudly announces the upcoming release of Better Cyfair, a powerful independent short film that delves into the fascinating intersection of education, politics, and identity in suburban America. Inspired by the real-life experiences of executive producer Terrance. J Edmond, Better Cyfair confronts the invisible lines that divide communities and the courage it takes to cross them.
Better Cyfair: A Story Rooted in Community and Truth
Set in Cypress, Texas, Better Cyfair follows a family’s move from the inner city to the suburbs during the Bush era, unraveling a deeply personal story that mirrors America’s broader struggles with class, culture, and conviction. Through the lens of one community’s evolution, the film examines how school board politics and partisan influence have shaped, and sometimes fractured, the promise of “a better life”.
“This film is about our shared humanity, flaws, and a fight at a crossroads in America. I am happy it will heal the world by helping us see the flaws within each other,” said Terrance J. Edmond, Executive Producer. “Better Cyfair asks a hard question – can understanding still exist in a time defined by division?”
Produced by The Owner Press
Through cinematic storytelling, a grounded, emotionally charged portrait of life in a changing America is explored. Produced entirely by The Owner Press, Better Cyfair serves as both social reflection and a call to action.
The film is currently in post-production, with screenings planned for August 2026.
