Bulgaria bids farewell to lev currency, awaits euro adoption amid inflation concerns

Bulgaria will formally undertake the euro as its forex beginning on January 1, forsaking the lev, which it has used because the late nineteenth century. The transfer is unpopular with nearly half the nation’s inhabitants over fears it might spark greater inflation, one thing that mistrusted authorities have been attempting to downplay. Additionally on this version: a central district of Budapest bans short-term leases beginning this January in a bid to repair a housing disaster.
