China launches antitrust probe into AI chipmaker Nvidia

China’s antitrust authorities introduced the opening of an investigation into Nvidia over a potential breach of a deal struck again in 2020. The transfer is a part of a wider US-China confrontation relating to chip know-how which may energy synthetic intelligence methods, navy gear and cyber warfare infrastructure. Washington had ramped up its export controls on chip know-how to China final week, inserting 140 Chinese language entities on a commerce blacklist.
