Final evening, on Juneteenth, I had the great honor of receiving the inaugural Style Award on the Beauté Noire Dandy Dinner & Gala introduced by Janell Stephens of Camille Rose Naturals.


The second was not solely a celebration of non-public achievement, however a robust affirmation of the sweetness, brilliance, and resilience of our group. As I stood on that stage, I mirrored on how far I’ve come—from Stone Mountain, Georgia to the Met Gala carpet—and the way religion, consistency, and tradition proceed to information my journey in style.


The night was a real celebration of Black excellence. The ballroom radiated with daring fashion, sharp tailoring, and a deep sense of pleasure. Visionary Janell Stephens, founding father of Camille Rose, curated a shocking expertise stuffed with flowers, style, and fabulous vitality.

Honorees included trailblazers throughout magnificence, style, and entrepreneurship—every of us celebrated for our contributions to creating house and legacy.




I’m extremely grateful to Janell and her crew for recognizing my work and for constructing platforms that honor and elevate our tales.
The room was stuffed with acquainted faces and associates who proceed to encourage and uplift. Yandy Smith lit up the evening in a yellow Oyemwen pantsuit, Monyetta Shaw was magnificence personified in black satin Dolce & Gabbana, and the incomparable Derek J and Miss Lawence introduced their signature aptitude to the celebration. Different attendees included my fellow honoree Terri J. Vaughn, Nicci Gilbert, vlogger Pretty Ti, Producer Princess, and make-up artist Latasha Wright.






From the pink carpet interviews to the electrical dance ground moments, the vitality was each celebratory and historic. It was a reminder that our tradition drives the narrative—and our presence is the ability.



To be acknowledged amongst such brilliance, on a day as vital as Juneteenth, is one thing I’ll always remember. This one’s for the dreamers, the disruptors, and the designers of tomorrow. Hold going. Hold shining. Hold lifting as we climb.
