Biking nice Eddy Merckx broke a hip in a crash whereas bike using, Belgian media reported on Tuesday (AEDT).
The 79-year-old was biking with a bunch when the crash occurred close to Hombeek in Belgium.
The Het Nieuwsblad newspaper mentioned the 79-year-old Merckx would bear surgical procedure at Herentals hospital, in response to feedback made by the household.

Merckx’s spouse Claudine labelled the incident as a “silly accident” with “no different highway customers concerned.”
“Eddy simply skidded away,” she mentioned.
