French prime minister to push 2026 budget through parliament without vote

French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu has introduced he’ll invoke Article 49.3 of the Structure to cross the 2026 funds invoice into regulation with out parliamentary approval. He admitted that resorting to this device represented a ‘partial failure’ as he had promised not to take action.  However after a number of concessions the federal government has made, he’s betting he now has sufficient political help, notably from the Socialists, to outlive even when no-confidence motions have been filed.
