Stargazers from as far north as Denmark and as far south as Milan in Italy famous the cloud-like spiral was seen for a number of minutes earlier than fading.

The Met Workplace defined in a put up on X that the phenomenon was probably brought on by frozen exhaust smoke from Elon Musk‘s SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.

“The rocket’s frozen exhaust plume seems to be spinning within the environment and reflecting the daylight, inflicting it to seem as a spiral within the sky,” the Met Workplace mentioned.

These spirals kind when ejected rocket gas from the fast-spinning higher levels of the Falcon 9 will get frozen in house immediately due to the altitude.

One Sky Information reader from Lytham St Annes in Lancashire mentioned the swirl “began off as a vibrant gentle, then [had] a blurry ring round it after which a spiral”.

“[It] hovered over this church for about 5 minutes then began transferring and disappeared,” the reader added.

In the meantime, Keeley Williams mentioned the swirl “began off hazy, then turned actually vibrant earlier than trying prefer it was spinning”.

The Falcon 9 rocket launched in Florida at round 5.50pm (1.50pm native time) on Monday on a labeled US authorities mission.
