Joan Branson, the spouse of British billionaire Richard Branson, has died at age 80.
Branson announced her death Tuesday on Instagram and LinkedIn.
No different particulars have been disclosed.
“Heartbroken to share that Joan, my spouse and companion for 50 years, has handed away,” he stated. “She was essentially the most great mum and grandmum our children and grandkids may have ever wished for. She was my greatest good friend, my rock, my guiding gentle, my world.”

Richard Branson is the founding father of Virgin Atlantic airline, house tourism firm Virgin Galactic and satellite tv for pc launcher Virgin Orbit.
In a 2020 blog post, he stated he met Joan in 1976 at The Manor, a recording studio in Oxfordshire, England.
“Joan was a down-to-earth Scottish girl and I shortly realised she wouldn’t be impressed by my regular antics,” Branson wrote.
He stated she labored at an vintage store that bought outdated indicators and ads.

The couple had three youngsters, Holly, Sam and Sarah Clare. Sarah Clare died shortly after beginning in 1979.
