A kayaker has stated he thought he was going to die when he was swallowed by a humpback whale.
Adrian Simancas was off the coast of Chile, within the Strait of Magellan, when it surfaced and devoured up his yellow boat.
His father, who was close by in one other kayak, captured the incident on digital camera.
“I assumed I used to be lifeless,” stated Mr Simancas. “I assumed it had eaten me, that it had swallowed me.”
Fortunately, the whale launched him after a couple of seconds and the digital camera captured his father telling him “keep calm, keep calm”.
The 24-year-old kayaker stated he was nonetheless fearful he might perish within the freezing waters.
“After I got here up and began floating, I used to be scared that one thing may occur to my father too, that we would not attain the shore in time, or that I might get hypothermia,” Mr Simancas stated.
