As we honor exceptional high school graduates throughout the Greater Houston area, we proudly spotlight Trinasja Burnom, a bright and determined young woman charting a meaningful path in healthcare. A recent graduate, Trinasja is headed to Houston Community College, where she will begin her studies in Surgical Technology this fall.
Surgical technologists—often called scrub techs—play a vital role in the operating room, ensuring that surgical procedures run smoothly. They prepare operating rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist surgeons throughout procedures. It’s a career that combines technical skill with a deep sense of purpose, making it a perfect match for someone like Trinasja.
“As a kid, I always wanted to work in a hospital,” Trinasja shares. “I used to watch movies about surgeries and doctors, and I loved the idea of helping people. That’s what first sparked my interest in this profession.”
Her passion for care and curiosity about medicine have grown into a focused career path, driven by a strong desire to serve others and contribute to her community.
“We are excited to promote our rising star seniors this year in the Greater Houston area who are positively contributing to their community and pursuing in-demand professions,” said Terrance Edmond, Chairman, Chancellor, and CEO of Owner Family of Companies.
