Austin, TX – The Owner School, a metaverse-based education and creator platform, has announced a major leadership transition as it prepares for its U.S. launch. Jesufeyikunayomi Oluwasanmi, known formally as Mr. Oluwasanmi and often called Peace by colleagues and mentors, has been appointed President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chancellor of the company.
Founder Terrance Edmond will step into the role of Chairman, focusing on the company’s long-term vision and strategic growth.
From Classroom to Leadership
Edmond, who first met Mr. Oluwasanmi as a student in his classroom at Prairie View A&M, recalls recognizing his drive early on.
“When I met Peace in my classroom, I remember the day he came up to me and said, ‘I want to create a bank.’ I knew at that very moment he wasn’t just any student—he would be my business partner some day, someone bold enough to change the world and see what others allowed fear to refrain from.”
That prediction has now come true, as the former student takes over day-to-day leadership of the company Edmond founded.
A Platform for Creators
The Owner School operates as a metaverse-based application designed to connect online creators with communities of learning. The platform integrates payments, marketing, and sales into one system, structured around the idea of a school.
Already with businesses deployed in Europe and Latin America, the company is preparing to launch its “Creator School” product in Houston, Texas. Instead of a traditional product release, the company will host a talent show to showcase the platform’s creative potential.
A Leader Forged by Resilience
Mr. Oluwasanmi’s appointment comes with a story of determination. A proud son of Nigerian heritage, he worked three jobs while also serving the Alief community as a substitute teacher to pay for his education. He went on to earn both his BA and MBA from Prairie View A&M University, graduating debt-free by excelling academically and seizing every opportunity the university provided.
Edmond says the transition reflects not only business strategy but also a passing of mentorship:
“I wanted to ensure Peace had what another great CEO, Michael Becley of Ecolo Environmental, once gave me—an ability to see all sides of the business: design, team-building, fundraising, partnerships, and our hybrid stealth approach. We focused on building the most beautiful product, not just rushing to market. Peace is ready.”
Looking Ahead
As Chairman, Edmond will concentrate on steering long-term strategy and ensuring the company’s vision holds beyond its initial launch. Meanwhile, Mr. Oluwasanmi will lead operations, product development, and community-building as the company scales.
For both leaders, the transition symbolizes not just a change in titles, but the fulfillment of a journey that began in a Prairie View classroom. From student to CEO, Mr. Oluwasanmi’s rise underscores the company’s mission: building a future where creators and learners thrive together.
