Rocky Mountain Noticed Fever is likely one of the deadliest tickborne ailments in the US, usually killing individuals inside a few week if left untreated. At one level, the San Carlos Apache Reservation had charges of an infection 150 occasions the nationwide common.
However now, they’ve achieved an enormous milestone: No deaths from the illness in 5 years.
NPR science correspondent Pien Huang and producer Megan Lim visited the reservation to see this system that led to their success.
