Venezuela Says U.S. Navy Raided A Tuna Boat In The Caribbean As Tensions Rise

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Personnel from a U.S. warship boarded a Venezuelan tuna boat with 9 fishermen whereas it was crusing in Venezuelan waters, Venezuela’s international minister stated on Saturday, underlining strained relations with the US.

Gil stated the incident was “unlawful” and “illegitimate” and warned that Venezuela will defend its sovereignty in opposition to any “provocation.”

The Venezuelan international minister’s criticism comes days after Trump stated that his nation had attacked a drug-laden vessel and killed 11 folks on board. Trump stated the vessel had departed from Venezuela and was carrying members of the Tren de Aragua gang, however his administration has not introduced any proof to assist that declare.

Venezuela accused the US of committing extrajudicial killings.
